Lent is a time for evangelism and true confession. Lent is not a time of temporarily giving something up but a time of transformation – receiving and living in the grace which God has intended for each of us. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and was developed as a Day of Penitence. The Season lasts forty days but does not include the Sundays. It culminates with Holy Week as we build to the celebration of Easter.
