Rev. Matthew Priem was born and raised in
central Florida. His dad works with the Post Office and his mom
home-schooled Matthew, his older brother, and younger sister.
The greatest blessing he’s had in life is “the strong
Christian upbringing I received from my parents.”
Matthew graduated from the University of Florida where he studied
Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and worked for two years as an
itinerant field biologist. During this time, the church was
“really my home away from home, and the realization of the
central place in my life that the church occupied is a large part of
what impelled me to go to seminary.”
At seminary, he had the opportunity to spend 3 months studying at a
sister seminary in Shingal, South Korea. Upon returning, he met his
wonderful wife, Tessa.
Pastor Priem enjoys all aspects of pastoral ministry: visitation of the
sick and homebound, youth ministry, Sunday morning worship, adult
education, etc. “I love sharing God’s word!” In his
spare time, he likes reading, movies, sports, hiking, fishing, and
other outdoor activities.
